The Sugar Group Companies is still a successful business in Indonesia today. For many years, Jusuf has been able to steer the businesses toward profitability and goals that executives once thought were unattainable.

Most importantly, Jusuf was the driving force behind Gulaku's meteoric rise. Premium refined sugar is one of the most well-known consumer brands in the country.

Sugar Group Companies is one of the world's largest sugar producers today. Under Jusuf's direction, the company oversees every stage of the product's production, from growing and refining to packaging, marketing, and distribution. Gunawan Jusuf has dedicated his entire career to the success of the company, so it runs like a well-oiled machine.

In addition to Gulaku, the Sugar Group Companies market JJ Royal Coffee and other well-known Indonesian brands. Since he was a child, Jusuf has been driven by success. Despite being born in Indonesia, he returned to the country to attend California State University Long Beach.

This is where he discovered his passion for business success, as well as a variety of other academic interests such as manufacturing, marketing, English language proficiency, and others.

The Sugar Group Companies' CEO recently published a book titled "Blue Gold." The story highlights the importance of water to life on Earth as well as the impending water shortage in Indonesia and elsewhere. Jusuf's professional background has given him a unique perspective on the importance of water in both work and life.

The book delves deeply into a straightforward discussion of water's high value. Water is required for the growth of sugar cane on Jusuf's numerous plantations and refineries, as well as the production of high-quality goods and the company's continued success. Throughout the book, Gunawan Jusuf's perspective on water scarcity is heavily influenced by the company's success.

Jusuf is a Renaissance man. Despite his commercial success, few people are aware of his many other accomplishments. Jusuf is a devout Catholic who supports numerous Catholic organizations. He had the good fortune to meet both Pope Francis and the late Pope John Paul II.

Molasses is a byproduct of sugar production. This product was used to create the cleanest ethanol ever. In 2012, we submitted an ethanol application to the California Air Resource Board. It received the cleanest ethanol rating from the CARB (California Air Resources Board Had ever verified)

He is a founding member of the Terawatt Initiative, which aims to redesign the energy system in order to produce more dependable, affordable, and sustainable power. The following are the Terawatt Initiative's seven primary goals:
Rethinking leadership in order to generate group solutions
Reduce uncertainty and encourage people and businesses to invest in more sustainable energy solutions. Create a compelling and straightforward story to communicate more effectively.

Rethink regulations to achieve a target of less than 2 cents per kWh. The budget should be adjusted so that the trillions of dollars set aside for the current energy system are transferred to the new energy system.

Gunawan Jusuf and numerous other business, energy, financial, and technological visionaries are constantly collaborating to ensure the success of the Terrawatt Initiative. They seek solutions to the difficult issues impeding the development of sustainable energy solutions.

The overall goal is lofty: to demolish the global fossil fuel system in ten years. Jusuf, on the other hand, has never given up before achieving success. He also contributes to the Sugar Group Schools, a company founded by his late mother and now run by his sister Purwati Lee.

The organization was founded in 2005 to assist parents of sugarcane field workers in sending their children to school. Despite being in rural areas, these schools are not like other rural schools in Indonesia. The bilingual programs, which are offered in air-conditioned rooms with WiFi, encourage children to succeed at the polytechnic level.

Sugar Group Schools educate over 1,900 children of Sugar Group employees for free. Children are given free uniforms, shoes, backpacks, and two meals per day. Universities provide full scholarships to deserving students.

Gunawan Jusuf's support for the Sugar Group Schools demonstrates his dedication to improving the lives of future Indonesian citizens. Jusuf's numerous business and charitable endeavors are constantly progressing. In the coming years, interested parties in Indonesia and elsewhere can expect the Sugar Group Companies to advocate for more environmentally friendly production practices, superior local educational options, and a variety of other commendable initiatives.
